Join Us

All artists and makers who call the south their home are invited to join. Membership is $35 annually, and includes membership at the Thomasville Center for the Arts. As a Collective member you will enjoy having your work featured online and collaborating with other artists to share ideas, influence creativity, and find out what’s new and happening in the arts arena. In addition, as a member you also have the opportunity to:

• Post your headshot, artist statement (what inspires you to create?), web link, and 6 sample images of work on your personal artist page.
• Submit your work into a themed online exhibition (exhibitions are 3 times a year and last for 4 months)
• Be selected for participation in seasonal Art Experiences hosted at Grassroots Coffee
• Access meeting space at Studio 209 (209 West Remington Ave) for Collective meetings or group studio work
• Lead workshops and participate in open discussions with other artists
• Take classes with other artists
• Teach art classes through the Thomasville Center for the Arts Artists in the Schools program, as well as Whet Your Palette monthly classes
• Design and build new public art installations
• Actively participate in shaping the direction of Thomasville’s new Creative District.

As a member, you are invited to submit up to two original works for the Collective's online exhibition. This work is your own interpretation of the theme, and can be represented in the medium in which you chose to create. Themes for the online exhibition are chosen by the Collective Advisory Board.

Each theme will have specific guidelines and a deadline for submission. Once work is complete, submit a high-quality digital image of the piece via the application on the Artist Collective website, along with the work’s title, medium, size and price for jury consideration. Artists whose work is chosen will be notified by email within 3 days of selection. The selected pieces will be featured in the online gallery. Thirty percent of the proceeds will benefit Thomasville Center for the Arts' Adult Education programs.

Online buyers can purchase work directly from the website using Stripe or a credit card. Collective artists will be notified immediately of any purchased art, and are responsible for shipping the piece directly to the buyer within one week of purchase. Our suggestion is to price your quarterly “themed” work no higher than $500 to encourage first time buyers to begin collecting your work.

Art patrons live everywhere. The Collective website provides you with a means to introduce fresh, new work to them on a quarterly basis. Viewers can also read your artist statement, see a full range of your work, and explore your website through a link on your artist page. Once on your individual website, patrons can see more work, and connect personally with you. Any work sold through your site is not subject to a commission by the Center for the Arts. We encourage all Collective members to create a webpage that features your work in depth.
